A belated question, sorry: Why were legs removed in L4D2?
Legs, first person animations, etc. I never played L4D, but I've seen some videos of it. How come all this great technology, especially first person legs, removed? I love L4D2, I've been playing it for a while, but I feel akward hovering above the ground like that...

Because Valve realizes that the survivors are not human but in fact flying terminators Tier 2ing their way through everything in their path.

I've also got a question - why do you make a thread for every question instead to make one for all togehter?
Anyway, the reason is the 360 - while L4D1 was a PC-developed-game with some console-approaches for improvements (e.g. the Lobby or the new main-menu), L4D2 is just a console-port. And on the 360, removing legs means "several more commons" (accoring to Valve - but many people just don't buy that. Even less logical is that reasoning on the PC, where we ALREADY HAD THEM and now we got the exact same amount of CI, anyway - if we believe the cvars) Last edited by Bindal: 07-03-2011 at 12:49 AM. |

2) What's the problem with putting legs on a console? **removed** does that just fine... Last edited by LesMoore: 07-10-2011 at 03:12 PM. |

1) Doesn't stop other people from doing that - or from people coming in general.
2) Ask Valve - THEY said that. |

Options > Graphic options > [] tick box to show full body
See how easy that was Valve? |

To my knowledge it's nothing to do with consoles or anything ... it's simply that they weighed up showing legs against overall graphical performance, and chose the latter.

It's to stop people from asking why they can't shoot their own legs on the forums!

Valve were lazy/forgot. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying.
Chet once used a odd hypothetical that was along the lines of "if it allowed us to add 5 extra zombies, we'd go with those over legs" without ever actually specifying that that was the reason. Your body is like 1-2 dynamic entities, a zombie is a whole load of dynamic entities (arms, decals, legs, body, head) which all have to be controlled, plus the zombie has to be controlled with AI. There's no way in hell the legs took that much to do. |

it would have been nice if they added it on the pc as an option, I do get the feeling l4d2 is dumbed down a bit in certain areas because of 360.. I could be wrong tho
anyway, it's not that big of a deal, don't have time to look down anyway when I'm playing confogl rvs |
