Crashing after intro

After starting the game and watching the intro i get to a loading screen and it just stays there cycling messages and the game does not load.

I'm using the unoffical patch but still no joy

Anyone else encountered this and know how to fix it?

As no one seems to know how to sort this, can someone possibly create a save file right at the start of the first level and post it up somewhere?

Would really appreciate it coz i'm stuck with a duff game at the mo
