what exactly is a "cycle"?
What exactly is a cycle? How do you minimize the number of cycles?

Cycles are essentially time. A waldo will move one tile in one cycle I believe. Reduce amount of waiting and time to reduce cycles used.

Cycles count off as your solution runs. You can see them in the lower right corner of the screen as it runs. The longer the solution takes, the more cycles it takes. To reduce cycles, you have to make your reactors more efficient. The tightest, most efficient waldo routes possible. No wasted travel time. Doing the job the most efficient you can.
I feel there is an inverse ratio between "symbols used" and cycles. The less symbols I use, the more inefficient and slow my reactor generally is. Usually because I work on things like timing the blue/red together based only on movement and placement only, instead of using syncs, for example. And my most efficient/fast reactors are usually symbol heavy. |
