Problem with fallout 3 and f3 goty edition.

Heres my problem.
A while back ago i ordered fallout 3, before the dlc or game of the year edition came out. When they finally released the dlc and goty edition, it was more expensive to buy all the DLC seperatly than it was to buy the goty edition. At that point I was like puh.

Today on the steam sale I noticed Fallout 3 Game of the year edition is on sale. So I tried to purchase and Im sitting at the purchase screen. Because steam is telling me I already own the game that I cant purchase it for myself it has to be purchased as a gift.
So what do I do. Obviously buying the GOTY edition for 10$ would be insanely cheaper than buying all the DLC by itself for over 30.

Am i supposed to get ahold of steam support and hope they can help me out within 20 hours?

I looked at the DLC and it is in on sale.
Even though 5 dlc at 3.74. Is still well over 10$

Why would i pay 15$+ if i could just buy another copy of fallout for 10$?

From what I heard over in GTA forums with that DLC problem, you are screwed. This is one of steams flaws. This is why I will never buy a game with DLC unless its bundled again.

Try contacting customer support. Can't promise they can help you, but worth a shot.

It is unlikely that support will be able to get back to you in that timeframe but I would put in the ticket anyway. Support cannot give you the sale price after the sale expires.

Just buy the game as a gift and hold onto it until you hear back. Worst case scenario is you end up having to make another Steam account to play the GOTY edition

What about deleting your old Fallout game?
