game won't start

i have window 7 64 bits. first it will install direct x. and tell me me.this game is currently unavailable please try again another time.

Close Steam , go to the steam folder and delete clietnregistry.blob, restart steam and it will do its magic and you should be fine again.

I removed the file but it does the install steps, and then it does say starting game but it won't start it just does go back to steam window.

using Windows 7 x64, 4GB ram and GT460 1GB I assume that should be good enough for this game right?

I get the same thing! I have also tried every step in this http://support.steampowered.com/kb_a...4595-WEXN-6831 But nothing have worked!

Did you activate the game or not? Start Steam but don't use Steam to launch it. Go to the bin folder under the Risen folder, right click Tages.exe and select run as admin. Go through the activation.

If you did activate then do the same but on the risen.exe.

When i try that i get an error message say that i should run the software i want to activate and not the "Tages.exe" then i try the same on the game icon and i get an error saying its a "Side-By-Side" error.

I looked up that error and best I can tell it is caused by Visual C++ error. Do you have Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2010 listed under add/remove programs? If not you can download it from Microsoft. Or it could be a registry error with the VCC+ install. That's what my search showed anyway.

I did have those programs, but they didnt work, so i did a re-install of everything, and now all my games work again

well it has been two days and it still not working, I uninstalled and reinstalled update all driver,select run as admin.what's going on?this is first steam game I can't run. I want my $10 back please. Shame look like going to be a good game.

To help those having trouble starting. I couldn't get the game to load so I use this to help me http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum.../t-968244.html

I changed the resolution to my native resolution of 1920 x 1080. The game starts. But I notice the game is very slow to load from black screen. I would say at least 40 - 50 seconds. One of the slowest loading games I've played. I don't know if changing the resoultion was the reason it worked or I just didn't wait long enough for the game to start.
