Thumbs down Is This Game Worth It? NO.

Seriously, avoid this game at all costs.

The developers and publisher should pay you $20 to play it. This is easily one of, if not the worst rpg game I've ever played in my life.

Be prepared for:

1) An endless amount of textual dialog
2) An absolute terrible physics engine (you can do front flips while changing direction in mid air - it gets worst).
3) The combat system is probably the worst I've ever seen. Do not compare this to oblivion combat, this is levels and levels below that quality.
4) The graphics of the first game are horrid, you're better off playing Doom or Quake.
5) If you decide to skip Ego Draconis and just play the Dragon Knight Saga, be prepared to be thrown into the game in the middle, not at level 1, with a ton of skills/attributes pre spent with absolutely no idea where to go or what to do.

I tried to return this game, because I was stupid enough to not play the demo first. Unfortunately steam wouldn't take it back.

This game is inferior to both Oblivion, Fable and any other third person single player RPG in just about every way.

AVOID.

1) It's an rpg and you're complaining about having to read? Seriously?
2) So what? Why is this bad? Seems like personal taste masquerading as criticism.
3) Sure, it's not THE best, but it's nowhere near the worst.
4) Doom and Quake? Okay, I almost stopped reading at this point as this is such a blatant exaggeration that it brings into question your overall sincerity.
5) Why in the world would you start any game at any point other than the beginning of the game? This really has no bearing on someone who actually wants to "play" the game, as opposed to just "checking it out". Add-ons and DLC are "MEANT" to be played "AFTER" the main game... not before it. Learn to walk and then learn to run... right?

To anyone else considering this game, please just go check out the other threads that talk about it and get some "honest" and "forthright" opinions about it. This person may be allowed to express themselves but this is, as I said earlier, personal taste masquerading as criticism.

I find this game almost 9/10 game and only thing which holds it back is unbalanced difficulty. This game is mostly suited for hardcore rpg players and to those who doesn't demand tons of blood flying, AAA graphics and flashy spells with super easy enemies which you can own.

The combat model is the best I played in any RPG and it wipes the floor with Oblivion. Not even sure you played the same game, perhaps you loaded up Tic-Tac-Toe instead. The skills in combat are all unique, easy to execute and you simply get to mix and match how you want to play. Myself I also go battle-mage when allowed. So many skill choices to choose from.

As to #5, you must be playing tic-tac-toe.

I just bought this game on steam sale for $20. When the game starts, my impression was ... this is a simple RPG for children, simple hack-n-loot with basic story and basic quests.

After playing 20-30 hours, this game has 100% captured my attention. I thought this game would be finished by now but it seems it's only starting

The story and dialogue are made for adults, not children. Combat is more exaggerated than other RPG's but controls are manual. Fighting multiple enemies at the same time means combat difficulty is sometimes very high and strategy/tactics are needed. Character classes: fighter, archer, mage and necromancer too. I am looking forward to trying some necromancy.

So far, the entire outside world and all interior area feel unique and special. Maps appear to be carefully "hand-made" and not just copy/paste. English voice acting is outstanding. Cutscenes are interesting and well done.

I bought several other games on steam recently and I have no interest to play them until after I finish Divinity 2. This game is under-rated in my opinion.

RPG elements and combat are well-balanced in my opinion. There are a few tricky areas, with hidden or not easy to find objects. So far, I have not used any spoilers. This game should be interesting for experienced RPG players. It's not dumbed-down. You must read books and carefully read/listen to conversations and look for clues and hidden objects.

this game I will admit I am starting to become addicted too. I have played it over 160 hours and still not tired of it. As a RPG lover I find thid game to be one of the easiest to get into for everyone. The combat system is way better then Oblivion. And if you dont like reading then dont play RPG's , reading is a big element to game play.

I got this game yesterday and I love it, the op obviously only cares about graphics. The more you play the better and more addictive it gets. rep to the post above as he speaks sense... op if you don't like reading why are you playing an RPG?

That's enough to stop reading your post and invalidates any and all of your ranting

Having put a measly 7-8 hrs into it, I'm very happy with the $10 investment. It reminds me of the first Witcher in terms of questing, dialogue, and graphics.

It will be interesting to see what you think of the game at the end. I liked it quite a bit more the W2.

So you are talking about Ego Draconis? We all know that. The Ego Draconis game in The Dragon Knight Saga is a remastered version but the same campaign. You won't start in a high level with tons of skills...
I think The Dragon Knight Saga is really good.
