Well i bought it on steam and created an account and now its asking me for my credit card? Cant i just get the month free and then have them after for my credit card? Because its a recurring fee so its kind of scary if i forget about it when the month is up and get charged for it. Any help?

You have to input your cc info to get your free month. However you can cancel your account immediately after activating it, so that way you won't get charged if you forget to cancel later. Just make sure to reactivate your account for each month you want to play after your free 30 days is up (you can cancel immediately once again).

No, you won't lose any time when you cancel billing. You're only cancelling your billing being renewed. It won't take away any of the time you've already paid for.
Note that you don't actually need to use a credit card at all if you have a game time card you could put in instead. And, indeed, buying game time cards can be a great way to save money, because there's one place on-line that sells 60-day ($30 retail) cards for $23, delivered electronically. See R_M's Guide to Getting Cheap Months for details on that, and some other ways to add a few inexpensive months of paid play. |
