Hitman 2 will not start up on Windows 7 64-bit
Every time I try to start up the game, I get an error saying "Hitman 2 has stopped working." The game doesn't even try to start up and I have no idea what is causing this. I've tried playing in XP compatibility mode and "run as administrator," but they don't seem to solve anything. Like I said, I have Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit
The strange thing is that the two demos for the game worked perfectly on my same PC without any glitches or crashes, so the fact that the full version doesn't work is odd. |

I've also tried verifying the game cache, and Steam found a missing file and downloaded it, but the game still won't run.

NEVERMIND, I figured it out. Here's the solution for those who have the same problem: Disable DEP for the game.
1. right click "My Computer" on the desktop. Click "properties." 2. Click on Advanced System Settings on the left side. 3. Go to the Advanced tab, Click "settings" under the Performance section. 4. Go to the "Data Execution Prevention" tab. Click the second option and add the hitman2.exe to the list of exceptions. Haven't had any other problems so far. |
