I played fully on one storyline(Scoiatel), all sidequests, no rushing at exactly 50 hours. But I've seen a lot of people say they take way longer, so I dunno, varies between people.

Am currently on 77 hours and not done yet (just started chapter 5)- I guess I mess around way too much when I'm having fun.

I've played it twice. First time was years ago on the retail version so I've got no idea how long it took.

The second time was a few months ago on the Steam version. I did all side quests that I found, didn't intentionally skip anything, and I think the Steam counter said around 50-60 hours when I finished the main game (I played some custom levels since then so it's a bit higher now :P).

If you stick to Plot Quests and some side quests, quick. If not, like me, you want to Rp a tad, do as much as possible then 50-60 hours seems the average. I believe my very first run (back in the day) took me about 50+ hours, then lastest run was under 40 hours becouse I knew what I was doing.

Tip, though, read and listen to everything.

Took me 72 hours. I guess I was running around in circles or something, compared to the 40-50 hour people.

I tend to grind for XP a lot in The Witcher, so I'm probably in the 70 hour category.

Probably not necessary though.

I've just completed the game 5 mins ago. Definitely one of my favourite games of all time. 56 hours including every side quest I could find. Not sure if I missed any as I never checked any websites or the wiki.

Can't recommend this game enough. hmm what next. Start Witcher 2, or wait for the new Deus Ex?

Duh. Witcher 2, of course! Aren't you dying to know what happened next?
