Multiplayer asks for password when none set?

Hey guys!

I'm trying to play United Forever with a friend on my home LAN and I'm having a really weird issue... I created a server and then he tries to log in... he CAN see my server no problem, but when he tries to join, it asks for a password. Problem is I didn't set one, I just left the field blank. So just for the sake of stupidity, I entered a password of w and tried again. It asks for the password, he presses w and we get a wrong password cannot connect error. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

I already port forwared the game and don't run firewall software so that shouldn't be an issue... I'm totally confused!

Oh and on top of all this, I tried to join the tm-forum.com and it keeps telling me that "one of your responses below was not correct" even though I filled out everything perfectly. So I went to the official site and tried there and it says the same thing. Anyone else have this problem?
