MW1 key lost

hi,
i ve got a problem with my MW1 key:
one time when i logged in i wantet to start a game and then there came a error...i watched what could be wrong and i saw that my key was not entered
so i searched in google and steam but i didnt find a solution

can you please help me?

PS: im from germany and my inglisch isnt perfect i hope you understand what my problem is^^

Did you buy it on steam or did you buy it at a store?

Cause if you bought it via steam, it will be putting in the CD key itself.
It just doesn't show. (Atleast not at my game).

If you bought it at a store, you'll have to find your CD key in the box.

i bought it by steam
but there is always the error:
Key is used (or something like this)
because i have a key from a frind that i can play with him but this key doesnt work...

so i want to reset the key to my original one.

Hmm... That seems sketchy, I would contact Steam directly.
