Unofficial Save Converter - restore your 1.0 save

So you got home and sat down to try out your lovely new VVVVVV 2.0. But suddenly you were hit with the fact that your precious save was gone! Your precious trinkets! Your amazing records! The frightening thought of having to redo Veni Vidi Vici!

(if your reaction was to beat the game all over again and get 120% instead, I commend you)

Well worry not, ConVVVVVVerter is here! Ready to bring back your save in the most convoluted way possible.

Just extract the ZIP file somewhere, run ConVVVVVVerter and hit CONVERT! It's that simple!
(in case it's not that simple and something goes horribly horribly wrong, do let me know and post the Output. Did I mention this program comes with no warranty whatosever and I hold no responsibility if it ends up eating you alive? Not that it should, don't let that scare you)

Requires .NET Framework 2.0 (included in Windows Vista and 7) or Mono (for Mac/Linux users).

Overwrites your existing VVVVVV 2.0 save. A backup is made in Documents\VVVVVV\Saves.bak. Uses SOLreader.

VVVVVV 2.0 SAVE BUGS:
VVVVVV 2.0 still has some bugs, and won't save this info:
- Time Trial time records
- Hardest Room name
- Slowdown setting
While the ConVVVVVVerter will restore the info, it will be lost next time VVVVVV saves until it is fixed.

Didn't work for me, I have no dwvvvvvv_quick.sol, only dwvvvvvv_unlock.sol and dwvvvvvv_tele.sol

AWESOME! It worked. I'd rescued all the crew and collected 11 trinkets before V.2 stuffed up my saves so I really appreciate this converter. Thanks, man. Have a bucketful of rep.

It failed, then wouldn't let me convert. I then undid the backup in the 2.0 folder, (No other files had been written to the new folder,) and after that I get this new error.

EDIT: Right, something different happened this time. I managed to get it to play nice again (By deleting and redownloading the program,) .minerva opened, and now it doesn't seem to be doing anything at all.

I believe the bug is for people who dont have dwvvvvvv_quick.sol or dwvvvvvv_tele.sol
The only thing I can think is skip them if they dont exist, rather than sticking.

I think I see a flaw here. Your program looks for vvvvvv_quick.sol, but once you've beaten the game, there are no more quick saves, so that file doesn't exist anymore. Perhaps you need to code for the possibility that the vvvvvv_quick.sol file isn't there?

Well I've beaten the game and I still have a quick save. I presume some people just never ever quick save, brave souls.

Anyways, v1.1 is out which should fix all your woes!

Question - Whats the teleporter save?
EDIT: Looks like i've lost my save somewhere. Crap. It was only half done mind. Don't think its the fault of this program, dont know where it couldve gone..

The teleporter save is the autosave whenever you use a teleporter, the quick save is whenever you save from the map menu. They're two separate saves and you can pick which you wanna load in the VVVVVV Continue menu.

What's the problem exactly? You can use the > button to open the save folders to check if everything is where it's supposed to be. If it's just not finding the folder properly, I could help you debug the issue, but if the saves just aren't there (cleaned out by CCleaner or something) there's nothing I can do.
