lost on level one at the switch?

I'm lost on level one at the switch by the green garage door, i flip it and apparently nothing happens. been everywhere and can't figure it out. anyone been past here and can help?

well for me u flip the switch and then go look for any of the remaining horde as the door will not open till you kill everyone and it says area clear

level 1 got 2 switch, with no function.

like i said u gotta clear areas for the door to open if u press switch or not!
