Wanted: Controller support
I find games such as this more comfortable with a controller as opposed to a keyboard (queue anti-controller rage from the anti-console trolls in 3...2...1... ). It's for this reason that I request that you, Mr. Terry, add support for my 360 controller so I can play the game with it, because, as it is now, my game won't recognize it, so I don't have as much fun with the game as I could be because I can't use it.
Please make this happen (if possible). I figured since you're working on the game at this time, that it'd be a good time to ask. *For those of you reading this want to play this with other controllers, feel free to piggyback and ask here for support for your own controllers as well.* Last edited by Me2nice: 07-29-2011 at 04:20 PM. |

Seing how the game has been recoded to C++, it shouln't be too hard to implement now.
I could use this feature, I'm not fond of external keymappers. At least XBox360-compatible controllers should be supported. And it would be nice if button remapping was possible. |

Use Joy2Key, a program that was included with the older version of VVVVVV, and can still be found using google.

Thought I read on twitter or somewhere that native support was going to be added soon. For now I'd go the joytokey route. The new install seems to have removed the old joytokey files, but the programs are available. I have the 360 config if anyone wants it.

I know joy2key is an option, but I would rather have native support for controllers.

I'd really like to see native support via auto-update on Steam for VVVVVV. My Logitech F510 would be supper happy.

Still a third-party program like XPadder/Joy2Key for example is pretty useful, there will always be games that don't support gamepads or keymapping. Since I'm using XPadder every program supports gamepads, if I want.
But still thumps-up for implementing native support. |

I know, it's only three keys I need to move but nonetheless I'd like the native support.
![]() I set up joy2key "just for fun" to test and try and my 360 controller acted weird. Once I walked right via stick but V didn't stop moving. Another time he just wanted to start walking. I'm kind of sure it was my misconfiguration...but...well ![]() I'll be waiting for the support, otherwise I'll stick to the keyboard. |
