Should I keep playing this game?

I bought this game due to the huge amount of recommendations and praise it got for its story.

I played the first chapter today, and all I got out of it was the worst kind of ditzy female protagonist combined with a ton of new-age artsy pseudo-babble. At this point it feels like it's trying much too hard to be mystical, and I really don't like any of the characters so far.

I just wonder if this is a normal reaction, and I might come to like this game at a later point? Should I keep playing?

Play it, no seriously, just play it.

I liked S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for the first few hours very much. But the closer I got to the end the less I liked it and I just finished it for the sake of it. I also had a hard time getting really warm with Drakensang, but at the end I really was sorry that the journey ended there.

You won't know if you like the game until you played through.

The game is a slow starter, it takes some time before the actual plot kicks in.

I'd say don't continue actualy.

It's interesting to play because it really is a quality game, but the characters, the story, the "mood" stays the same from the start to the end. If you don't like it now, nothing will change that. There are no sudden twist making the story suddenly compeling. Either you like it, either you don't. And obviously, you don't.

You really think so??

New characters and settings are introduced steadily throughout the game and each one has its own background and unique origins. There's a huge variety of settings, each with its own history. There's definitely some big twists to the story, particularly at the end.

However, I do agree that if you're not grabbed by the intro then your chances of enjoying the rest are diminished. Like many of my favourite games this one didn't sell well because it doesn't have mass appeal.
