Friend feature enabled over time

Hi. This is probably something that will hit the backburner as soon as half of the community sees it... but I was wondering if the ability to add friends to Steam could be something given to an account that has been around for like a month or something. I just think it is kind of silly that free accounts can't even add friends. I mean, if someone adds me to their list, I should be well able to accept it right? It seems the people around Steam seem really scared of spammers if they can't even accept a friend request. :V

I know it is stupid for a person riding on a free account to ask for more... But it is just kind of that simple thing that is driving me nuts right now and I don't have the money to spend on a game or some game item (That I can easily earn) right now.

The reason it happens is because of people jumping on with free accounts, spamming people with messages, running through chat rooms advertising their pills or ipods or saying "i iz n uber steam admin - you wills giz passwurd nowzz!!".

If they did a 'after 10 days' or 'after 30 days' thing, the accounts would just get opened on a daily basis and they would rotate through them as each one gets to the magical 'allowed' date and spam like crazy then.

You CAN actually add friends... get them to add you, if you accept it through the community link rather than the friends list - you'll have a friend

You know what? It actually makes sense for me to go looking for the link rather than trying to do it from a quick and open thing. That way it proves I'm not a bot and more of just a poor smuck trying to add their friends to Steam. But it is nice that I actually can. I thought it was a bug I figured out while minutes away from zonking out on my keyboard last night. (Trust me, too tired to add to the post some more last night)

But I'm just saying, if the friend feature was added after like 30 days of time... That is 30 days PLENTY of a chance to figure out of it is just a bot. I mean, wouldn't they have tried to spam somewhere by then? They are bots... And spammers that probably speak like Chinese, (Not trying to sound prejudice, but it seems most spammers are of a Chinese IP) and could be wasting their time elsewhere if they have to wait 30 days to accept friend requests.
