Hmm ok, this was probably an error in writing on my part, try go into your base folder, copy all the WL6 files that are in there, then go back into the wolfenstein 3d folder and paste them in there, see if that does the trick.

Updated main post, my apologies

Thanks but I may have noticed that picking one or the other isn't needed. because with the new .exe you provided I can choose new mission and it has all the new portal of portal of praevus stuff, but a few options below that there is an option for old mission which seems to play all the regular non praevus stuff. So since you can choose to play old or new from the glh2.exe, wouldn't that make the glhex2.exe unneeded? your thoughts? maybe I am jumping the gun and it doesn't work properly but it seemed to have spawned me in the starting mission of the regular game.

Yeah so I noticed, indeed if you start the portals mod you CAN choose old or new missions, but the fact that old missions is all the way at the bottom of the menu always kinda bugged me, to me it just feels neater having it this way, each to their own.

I just got quake 2 all up and running, how do I use the +set game command to get the community overlay working in the mission packs?

well as stated, you have to set this option on Quake2, not the mission packs, they are bugged, but just right click on quake 2, click properties, set launch options, then depending on what pack you want enter

+set game xatrix or +set game rogue

The UQP for Quake already includes OoPpEe's plasmagun fix by his permission and the UQ2P for Quake 2 is the latest KMQuake2 as well.

The issues with the overlay in the Mission Packs can't be fixed directly by users due to Steam using batch files to launch the Mission Packs.

Graphical issues/crashes with Quake 2 and ATI cards can be fixed by placing an older atioglxx.dll file in the same directory as quake2.exe. I would include it in the UQ2P but I have no Nvidia hardware to test with and ensure it didn't have any negative effects.

Otherwise, a nice list there. You did miss out Return To Castle Wolfenstein which does have major slowdown issues which require a few files placed in the RtCW folder. More information can be found here.

Yes sir!

ahh my apologies, I got your quake 2 pack when it was first released, there's since been an update to KMQuake and it didn't like me when I updated the executables xD, I probably shouldn't have made speculations on the whether you kept it up to date or not, my mistake,

Yeah, the mission packs are a pain in the like that >_<

I honestly haven't played a lot of the RTCW so I can't comment personally on that.

No need to apologise. The patch I put together hasn't been changed really as there hasn't been any stable engine releases since. The engine files that you linked to though were the exact same used in the patch I put together. KMQuake2 0.20b3.

Also, don't call me sir, I work for a living. :P

Ahh brilliant then!, I'll get your pack linked in again, much more convenient.

I downloaded master.pk3 but I don't know where to put it. Will it work with zDoom and what game will it show me as playing?

I think that should be clarified in the first post cause I had a little trouble as well, but it's pretty simple. Just put the master.pk3 file in the same place as everything else and follow the same procedure of renaming gzdoom.exe to dosbox.exe and set it to run Doom2.wad, the only change you need to make, once the first part is done, is to open Properties for the Master Levels on Steam and then select "Set Launch Options..." and type "-file master.pk3" (without quotes). That'll make gzdoom run the pk3 file on startup.
