Notes
*1 - The Regular Edition and Augmented Edition of Deus Ex: Human Revolution do not provide the TF2 hats upon Steam activation.

*2 - The copy of Deus Ex: GOTY that is bundled with Deus Ex: Human Revolution Augmented Edition is not Steam compatible.

*3 - The Digital Deluxe Edition of Red Orchestra 2 from GMG does provide the TF2 hats upon Steam activation (Confirmed as of August 12).

*4 - On August 20, two titles (Tropico 4 & Call of Juarez: The Cartel) were reported as being non-Steamworks games. However, despite growing concerns over a statement from Kalypso (check Page 6+ for more info) regarding Tropico 4, Call of Juarez: The Cartel has been confirmed by GMG staff as a Steamworks title (Thanks James 2009001). Although GMG Staff have informed us that Tropico 4 is not a Steamworks title and has therefore been removed from the list.

*5 - Men of War Vietnam - Special Edition can be activated on Steam, however you will receive the Standard Edition through the Steam client, not the special edition.

*6 - A post on the GMG forums has claimed that Borderlands GOTY Edition does in fact activate in the Steam client.

I don't mean to cast shadow over this, but, Saints Row 2 from GamersGate activates as german language copy with low violence patch, while it is one among many, it is there.

I'd appreciate those who have bought these titles and activated on Steam to share what version they received. Ending up with a German low violence version that may suspend your account (buying from another region/ROW version) would not be pleasant.

That's a great idea. Anyone who has made GMG purchases should post which version they received when they activated it through Steam. I'll add it to the list if people post it

I wish SH3 included the entire collection for preorders rather than just the fist game. I hope there is a Steam sale on the collection soon.

good list as I'm a fan of GMG, but Alpha Protocol is not a Steamworks game therefore the key cannot be redeemed via Steam.

To my surprise GMG does state Alpha Protocol needs Steam.

This game requires Steam(TM) in order to install and run and so cannot be traded or refunded.

Alternatively you can just type in 'Steam' in the GMG search and it'll show the Steamworks games.

The reason these threads exist is because of exceptions.

GMG sells a Steam version of Alpha Protocol because SEGA wants them to.

I thin you can't install Rome or Medieval Total war in Steam , those games have never been steamworks and I highly doubt that now are ... I think this should be an error from GMG . Can someone confirm that ? , fi you can finally activate those games in Steam I think I'll buy t he Rome pack since in Steam (europe) is more expensive .

All the other ames in the list are steamworks so you shold activate in Steam with no problems .

GMG sells special Steam copies of some games. Notably SEGA games.

Plus there are plenty of non-Steamworks retail games that activate on Steam, eg Prey, RACE 07.

In short, Steamworks games MUST activate on Steam - but that doesn't mean non-Steamworks games never activate on Steam, nor does it mean GMG doesn't have special agreements with publishers to sell Steam keys for games that don't normally activate on Steam.

Rome and Medieval 2 are redeemable on steam i bought those 2 plus Empire and Napoleon on the Sale.
