WOW! Thank you! Friend tagging was much needed (and it's tags rather than categories so I can have a friend in two places! Yay!) and Steam Trade sounds excellent, seeing as I have a few gifts here and there that my friends either have or don't want. Might be able to get something I want from my wishlist for them.

I'm installing the beta now but seeing as I'll probably be the only early adopter on my list, I have to ask: Can one trade multiple gifts for a single gift?

The "View Details" button for downloads is still broken in this beta.

... all it does is to switch from "Downloads" back to the rest of the "Library", but it doesn't actually switch to the game I want to know more details about - which makes the button utterly pointless.

Common use case:
Click "View News" and once again a game updated without proper changelog
Go back and click "View Details" to easily get access to the game's forum link.
...
This is where it should be over, sadly now I have to find the game in a 300 item long list because the stupid button doesn't work the way it should.

Great, I was eager to finally test the PT-BR translation on Steam, mainly TrackerUI... and it isn't there - every string from that file is showing in English... what's happening? We can't have a capped translation, right? :P

Nice additions. Some feedback:
  • Tags seem to be working great. Only thing I would add is a sorting method (custom, alphabetic, etc) for the tags.
  • The inventory tabs shows twice "Steam".
  • Viewing aliases does seem to be broken in this version. It doesn't show any aliases at all.
  • Deleting/editing a tag doesn't seem to be in place.
  • When using "link an item in chat"; resizing the chat-window seems really annoying. Couldn't you just select an item then refocus on the chat-window?

Where can you edit/remove tags?

Well found how to remove tags from people just not where to delete/edit tags

The inventory view for TF2 doesn't show duplicate items

edit: ok maybe it does, but the list isn't sorted.

Being able to sort the tags would be nice. Also, tagging as opposed to categorizing games is something I'd very much like (i.e. have something in both a "multiplayer games" tag as well as a "shooter" one. I like sorting ). Other than that, looking forward to the new features being implemented and tested!

So... is there (or will there be) a way to simply browse people's trade offers?

PS: Also, with this system, what about activating retail steamworks keys as gifts if you own the game already, rather than rejecting the key for that reason? Might be a nice addition

Just a quick bug report: Items colored with Team Spirit (probably all other red/blue colors too) show up with a black paint symbol instead of a red/blue one.

Is there a way to activate a Steamworks title and keep it as a gift? For instance if it's a copy of a game that you don't have and don't want added to your Steam game list, but would want to use for trading?

Biggest issue I can find: trades happen on steam, but don't connect to your in-game backpack. This means that if you complete a steam trade while playing TF2, you have to reboot TF2 in order to claim the item(s) you traded.

This may also mean that items traded over steam can not be traded further, and require you to boot up TF2 in order to claim the items to be able to trade them on.

Untagged is working fine here:

What it seems to do is filter out the people who are already tagged from the "All Friends" category, while still keeping your tagged friends visible within their tags. I like this.
