Still can't save...
Just bought the steam version, and am having the issue that won't allow me to save, and the game crashes every time it wants to auto-save. I'm running on Windows 7.
Things I've tried: Run as admin (can't find steam) Set user to full privileges in security settings(doesn't seem to do anything) Made sure the folder and all the files within were not set to read only (again, nothing) Tried running in compatibility mode for XP (can't find steam again) Any other suggestions? |

I'm having this same issue, just ran Jade Empire for the first time today and it's crashing at the first auto save everytime. The game allows me to save but after the crash, when I try to load, my saves aren't there. Perhaps they are going into the wrong folder somewhere?

That is most likely a permissions-problem. Jade Empire is not allowed to create saves and then it crashes.
Running the game as an admin and in compatibiliy mode should fix it... What is "can't find steam" supposed to mean? Is that an error message you get? Or can't *you* find steam? |

http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=1438746 <= this one i couldn't do because i don't have a "window user name", i am just "Admin" as far as i know, so what i did was give all the permisions for everyone, but didn't work. |

Did you edit the PATH variable? That should make the "Can't find Steam" error go away.

This game will run on Windows 7 without any compatibly options checked.
Quit out of Steam and then right click the Steam icon. Run STEAM as administrator. Then open the steam library and play Jade Empire. On my PC, this was sufficient to give the program the ability to save. |
