No in-game music playback on Aion Steam version

I recently signed up for the Aion trial using the trial client and everything was fine. Then I purchased the game off of Steam, and downloaded the Steam version of the game. Afterwards, I notice that on the login screen, in-game, in combat, etc. I have no music anywhere. I've checked my settings and BGM music is on. I've completely uninstalled and reinstalled both the NCsoft launcher and the Aion client with no effect. I've also uninstalled audio drivers and reinstalled, just in case (although sound is fine everywhere else). Using Win7 x64.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Actually, I was finally able to resolve this by using the NCsoft Launcher itself to 'Repair' the Aion installation. It re-downloaded some core files apparently into the client folder, and afterwards background music works again. It's odd that it didn't work from the get go with the download from Steam, but all is well now it seems.
