Just wondering can it run good games and BF3?

That is an integrated video chipset. It will do VERY little amount of gaming.

I assume this is a laptop. Which means he can NOT upgrade it.

Whats inegrated video chipset? Little amount of gaming? He can play ♥♥♥♥ of Duty MW2, Tf2, and other games and no lag though.

If OP's friend has a GEN2 core cpu it can game fairly well iirc the GEN2 HD3000 integrated GPU is about as powerful as a AMD HD5770.. (I5 2500/I7 2600 HD3000)

not sure what the HD2000 Gen2 IGP is like.. (I5 2400 & lower CPU's have HD2000 some lower spec's do have the HD3000 IGP)

I doubt it will play BF3 at any setting he tries. BFBC2 barely gets 30 FPS on that thing.

BF3 is said to be better optimized but we wont know the full story till it's released, the say if you can run BF2 BF3 will be easier..

They said the same about Crysis 2; so I'm guessing the graphics themselves on BF3 won't be better than BC2, there will just be cheap tricks to make them appear better when they aren't lol.

They're not as powerful as an HD5770, they're about on par with a HD5450.

hmm care was only going from memory I think I killed that day with one to many drinks oh well still a hell of a lot better than the old Intel IGP's (Chipset)

anyway post some bench marks for the OP, I would but don't remember where I seen them..

Oh and I seriously though they where better than a HD5450 but a lil under 5770 meh (Referring to the on DIE sandy bridge IGP not the old chipset HD graphics)

Yep they're pretty decent for integrated chipsets, very capable of handling source games, left 4 dead, and other similar games quite nicely

Nah, Intel HD 3000 still sucks compared to even entry level gfx cards. Driver support is terrible, and lack of dedicated memory will still prove it's undoing in higher resolutions. An HD 5770 will simply eat it.
