Which difficulty setting will you select?

One thing I don't want is to get too frustrated.

And yet, if the game feels too easy I tend to lose interest. I didn't play the leaked preview build, but I'm guessing that those who did got to experiment with the difficulty settings. What's the word on the street about this?

Also, can we alter the difficulty setting after we commence the game?

I'll probably follow my usual modus operandi and select the top difficulty level before realising I've bitten off more than I can chew and dropping it to medium.

I always play games on the easiest setting, since the difficulties of games tend to never, EVER impact the game or story at all or even enough to make it worth the stress of the challenge.

I plan to play on the easiest setting, even if it had a multiplayer, i never play that crap either way.

Well, it depends on my play style. Im probably going to be stealthy for my first playthrough so hard should be about right. You know, to encourage me avoid fighting.

I was thinking the same thing, except maybe doing it in reverse: Rambo style on normal setting the first time, and then Thief style on Deus Ex the second.

I might replay the first mission, just to try out the various settings.

I don't know whether I will play as the hardest difficulty because some games give you extra bonus (unlock) when you finish hardcore or insane level. if this game will give me the same extra bonus, I will try that. but as usual, I will play it as normal to understand the whole combat mechanism, enemies AI first. of course, the story is the most important but isn't impact on level difficulty. so tonight, we will be all rock & roll.

Hardest. Not like it'll matter anyway, I'm going full stealth.

I'll start on one of the harder settings and adjust from there. In the beta it seemed pretty hard to remain undetected unless you planned your moves very, very cautiously. Being short on play time and since this has checkpoint saves (if memory serves?) i opted to do some shooting in some cases.
