Steam wants to download a 500MB patch for Deus Ex and won't let me play the game until it has, except it's stuck at 12.8MB, on "suspended."
Anyone know a solution to this, or is Steam not going to let me play my game until it fixes a problem I didn't have? |

Easiest way to fix this problem is to switch your download region to something else.
This can be found under Steam->Settings->Downloads + cloud |

So far no dice. That solution makes sense though. I'll keep trying.

For me it said that it was only a 12.8Mb download and that its completed now. I didn't have a 500 Mb one?

Then I guess it's broken. :/ I hope this doesn't mean I need to redownload the whole thing...

I tried to verify the local files. It hung at 100% but started downloading something so I canceled out to see that it's now downloading a 5GB file.
I'm not one of those folks who will give a game 1 star if it gives me a headache, or call it the worst thing ever... but I am getting SERIOUSLY annoyed at having to wait another 4 hours to play this game just because Square decided to break it. It is ridiculous that this game's solution to downloading 12.8MB worth of faulty data is to replace 5GB of good data. |
