Long Term Negative Consequences?

Is it possible to just go Rambo and clean up the entire city?

I was in the police station, and I set off a few alarms. I was afraid of some negative consequences if I just started shooting up the place, so I just ran out the door.

Are there any long term negative consequences for going on a shooting spree?

Just save your game before you go on your rampage and you'll be fine.

I didn't see any "save" option for DE:HR. It seems to just save automatically similar to the Batman game.

I haven't gotten too far past it, but I cleaned the police station of all life.

No witnesses.

The load screens tell me that there are hidden side quests which you can activate by talking to NPCs. I assume that by killing everyone, you are permanently disabling those quests.

There is a save button. I use it an awful lot.

Try ESC during gameplay, you know, the options?

I was like 5 hours in or so and had to restart my game!

Was doing the station on stealth and doing well until I messed up on hacking because it's hard. It set off an alarm far down the hall but I didn't hear it, and I saved. So after that everyone was on alert and I just killed everyone, figured I'd make use of all the guns the game gave me.

Kind of worried about what the cops would do when I left, and when I did they attacked me. The game just felt broken and impossible after that. If you sneak out the station and make it back to debrief you won't get attacked from the cops but as soon as you walk back into the station and out they will.

So yeah, this is kind of bothering me. I'm liking the stealth, but I also want to use all the guns. 1 kill an hour is lame, but I don't like how I can just do something hidden and someone somewhere else knows about it, and I've saved game.

F5 is quicksave btw, and F8 is quickload. I quicksave before doing anything that I might mess up on, or don't know what will happen. It's also recommended you do a hard save in the menu. If I'd have done this I wouldn't of had to restart the game.

Okay, I must have pressed Esc during a cut scene or something, because for sure the option was not there when I needed to do a dinner break. Ah well!
