Constantly crashes to desktop every several minutes
The game keeps crashing to desktop every several minutes (no error, just stutters and quits to desktop), completely unplayable
anyone else experiencing the same issue here?Motherboard: s1155 Intel Z68/LAN Asrock Z68 Extreme4 CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K/ 3.40 GHz RAM: DDR3 PC10666 16GB (4x4gb) Corsair XMS3 CMX4GX3M1A1333C9 CL9 VCard: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 1280M ASUS GTX570 PSU: 800W Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold OS: Windows 7 Home Premium Rus the OS is almost a fresh install, got zero problems running other games or software, tried installing different videodrivers, tweaking the game options - nothing, Deus Ex just keeps crashing again and again. disabling DX11 support makes the game stutter like hell when moving the mouse. i also tried running the game on a macbook pro with Win installed via bootcamp(i7 2.0 + 4096 + Ati 6490M), the game runs ok, except i notice temporary stuttering and severe FPS drops right at the same moments my desktop PC would get a crash to desktop. Ex: * first level, the moment when Adam and Megan come to a lab door after a dialogue with Eric * first level, the moment in the lift wit Meg up to the time when Pritchard enters the lift and talks to Adam about a firewall Last edited by SmithRO: 08-26-2011 at 01:38 AM. |

Sort of the same problem as you, but not many others seem to.

Same here, not as often but every 45 mins of play I get total freeze-up & running without dx11 on, the game studders & hitches badly. Also its not just with the mouse I've tried using a controller to but no better...

I've been getting this too since the latest patch. Disabling directx 11 resolved it for me, but it's not an ideal fix.
edit: worth noting as many other people with this issue seem to have a card from the same line as me, I have a gtx 570. Also, my crashes have now randomly stopped and I can play in dx11 again. Very weird (not a result of the patch). Last edited by asmallhorse: 08-27-2011 at 07:02 AM. |

Well your specs are certainly well above requirements.
Have you checked your temps? Although if the game crashes at the same place(s) in the story every time then it's unlikely to be that. When you installed your different video drivers, did you make sure to do a CLEAN install each time? ie - uninstalled old drivers, used something like "Driver Sweeper" to clear out all remaining driver files and registries before installing video drivers again? From experience I know problems can arise if video drivers aren't properly uninstalled and cleared out before new ones are then installed. |

Yup, and the 2 patches so far address ATI graphics issues.

After 11 hours of play I can say I have experienced at least 5 or 6 random frozen screen crashes but worst of all now a consistent crash in the slums of Detroit is keeping me from progressing at all. I too am using an Nvidia and have a system well above recommended specs.

Yeah seems to be a heavy issue for Nvidia users. i run a ati 6850 and the game has been smooth since release even with no mouse issues and no crashes in dx11 with everything maxed at 1650x1080 on my 16:10 monitor.

I'm getting the same thing now. When the game launched in the UK last night at midnight, I played it for a few hours and it was fine. Since playing it today, I've crashed every 15 mins or so. It's getting constant now...

Ugh, I feel for you guys. I played last night for 5 hours straight (using an NVIDIA GTX 580) and surprisingly didn't encounter a single hiccup (though I did have a couple foolish deaths).
A friend of mine using a GTX 560 is having a similar problem, though it seems to only occur at one of the first cutscenes. Will see if getting him to disable DX11 will help him there, since it has helped some others it seems. |
