Demo is too long

I'm not really sure why I'm supposed to buy this game.

I downloaded the demo when it was a daily deal a few days ago, and haven't gotten to the end of any of the "demo" modes yet. My point is- I don't see any particular value to buying this if I'm pretty much getting a whole game (to me) for free in the demo.

Anybody else feeling the same way?

It is a pretty cool game by the way. I just feel like whenever I'm done with the demo, I'm done with the whole game too.

I don't know the exact length of the demo, but the full game features a map spanning over 100 campaign levels, with bonus puzzle levels sprinkled between them like cherries on a cake. It's a long game.

didn't feel that way at all for me.

i downloaded the demo, played through it, did all the brain teasers and really enjoyed it.
because the demo was so generous i really got into the game, past the initial learning curve to actually be able to see streams fairly easily, and felt invested in the game. come 85% sale, i bought 3 copies, and recommended a friend to try it out as a possible gift for his parents as the demo was long enough to really get a feel for it.
the demo easily sold this game to me.

lethminite's experience describes my feelings well. I think a shorter demo would not allow the game's depth and varied gameplay to be adequately demonstrated. Tidalis' various elements are introduced in the demo at a very nice pace, allowing a player to adapt to concepts at his/her/their own pace. I was sold on Tidalis after playing the first demo made available on Steam, long before I purchased the game. After purchase, I was surprised to learn that it had been revised many, many times since the demo I'd played and was still being debugged and adapted to the players' needs/desires! This game should be bought by anyone and everyone who enjoys any kind of casual or puzzle game; there's something for everyone here!

Tidalis looks relatively simple at first, but it's actually HUGE and varied, easy in some ways and difficult in others but also forgiving, including many different "themes" and "tile sets" and even modes allowing people with different disabilities to enjoy the game when they might not otherwise be able to play--and that's just the single-player experience, which might be the one of the smaller parts of the game. I don't know that for sure yet because I haven't played multiplayer, but I hope to get my relatives and in-laws involved with me in multiplayer sometime soon.

Tidalis' developer has put a lot of time and resources into this game and I don't know if the developer [sorry for the generic reference here... my memory is currently failing me] has actually made a profit on Tidalis yet. If so, it would have had to have happened relatively recently, I think.

I'll check the official game forum(s) and get back to you on that (if I remember).

[Impairment of memories that have passed into my long-term memory is one of my disabilities (a doctor would say, "secondary to a TBI"). That's one of the reasons I love playing games like Tidalis that "exercise" my brain, hopefully thereby enhancing its ability or preventing it from weakening further.]
