The game ate my savegame!

Something's cheesy with the system anyway. Sometimes, I just can't save and have to wait (or walk) a little to make it possible again. But today, the game just killed it.
I've saved (from the menu), quit and while going to the main menu, a message appeared, something about "Could not load". Well, my saved state was gone then. Entirely. The file was not there.
I really don't feel like replaying everything I've managed to achieve. Maybe I'll play this game again after half a year or so when replaying doesn't hurt. Looks like I'll have to ring save...

Could you fix your save system when you're doing Penny Arcade Adventures?
