Newegg Question?

Just bought PC parts, realized I bought the wrong PSU (got the non-modular version, wanted the modular version for less cables), and the order has already been shipped, should I just go ahead and buy the right PSU and send the wrong one back when I get it? I'm using ShopRunner so return shipping should be free (emphasis on SHOULD), but will Newegg give a full refund (box will be unopened), or will they charge a restocking fee?

Since the part isn't defective, a restocking fee of 15% will be deducted from the refund.

Also:
May I exchange my RMA'd item for a different product?

No. Unfortunately, we do not exchange RMA items for different items. We will only replace an RMA'd item with a an identical replacement item of the same make and model.

If the return policy period for a refund has not yet expired, you can request an RMA Refund (subject to 15% restocking fee), order a new item, and we'll refund your original purchase after we receive your returned product.

Now if they sent you the wrong item.... thats a different story.

If its rated high enough, you could sell it to one of your buddies that might want the upgrade. Without the shipping costs and a small discount to motivate the sale, you can save yourself the even higher cost of shipping it back and losing 15%

It states that "Most products can be returned for either a Refund or for a Replacement of the same item. Refunds are subject to a 15% restocking fee, which is deducted from the refund amount."

So whatever you paid for the PSU the fee will come out of that refund price.

Either way, you will have to Contact Newegg and tell them about the mixup and see what they tell you to do.
