Game shuts down at menu

I've tried to play this game a few times and each time it shuts down just as the menu is about to open. I've tried verifying the files and it doesn't find a problem.

Does anybody have a solution? I'm using Vista 32bit if that helps.

I have the same issue. I've tried changing compatibility modes and running as administrator. None of this is fixing the problem. It's a shame because the other 2 games in the series work. So buyer beware until we get a solution.

I have emailed the developer about this problem and will post if and when they respond.

Similar Problem,

when I start Steam (->Post Mortem) with User-Rights, the Program shuts down, right before the Menu should appear.

But when I start Steam (->Post Mortem) with Admin-Rights, there is no Problem.

I have installed Post Mortem with Admin-Rights and I have checked the Write-Permission for Users "Steam\SteamApps\Common\Post Mortem" (Registry also checked, but there is no Entry). Normally this works with most of the Programs, which have Problems with User-Accounts.

System: Windows XP Pro SP3

Greetings

Chrstph

P.S.: Sorry for my English, I am using Babelfish

Red face Same here...

I'm having the exact same problem. I tried running as Adminitrator, but it still crashes at the main menu.

If I discover anything I'll post, but I'm already mildly frustrated.

Windows Vista 32 bit
Intel Core 2 Quad core
3 gigs DDR 2 ram
Geforce 430gt

Issue present here as well, running on Vista x64. Instant crash after developer intro video and when pressing Esc to skip through it. I hope this problem gets a work around real soon, otherwise I just wasted $10.
