How many Savegames?

Anybody knows if it is possible to have multiple savegames? I'd like to have 2 playtroughs. One in singleplayer and the other one in co-op! I hope it is possible, because I would not really like it if the experience points I got in coop would transfer in my singleplayer game.

Oh, I will be playing on PC.

It looked like you can make as many characters as you want, and then select them from a list (XP will be independent for each playthrough). Kind of like Borderlands I imagine.

The multiplayer is drop-in drop-out without lobbies so you'd just have to back out to the menus whenever you wanted to change saves from co-op to singleplayer or visa versa.
