Crash To Desktop

As it says the game crashed to desktop for seemingly no reason Will playing the tutorial. I'm using a 360 Controller (which oddly can only be used during your turn. To skip tutorial chat during other pay turns you need to use the MOUSE.

Are you also using a 360 controller?

Our lead developer should be taking a look at this thread shortly, but until then, I'd recommend trying some of the fixes found in this thread: http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=1759194

I tried reinstalling the redistributables and the game still crashes. I don't know if this means anything, but each time it's crashed I was in the process of selecting a tile at the start of a turn.

I too have experienced three crashes to desktop while attempting to play through my first game. At least two of them were during tile selection and seemed to happen in response to a button press from my gamepad.

If you have the tunnel selector on an invalid square in auto and click on the window that says no valid.. something.. it'll ctd every time. I did it repeatedly figuring out that I had to move the hexagon, not just click where I wanted it to go.

I've just bought the game and can't play it. I've tried 3 times now and randomly during the tutorial it will CTD. The last time it was stuck on an animation for a while after all the AI had their turns. I went to the menu and selected 'Abandon Control' and it CTD'd.

I'm using a wired 360 controller.

update: I tried a repair of the xna 3.1 redistributable as mentioned in the linked thread above. Ran the game again and it freezes at the main menu. Had to ctrl+alt+delete to kill it.

So far, I'm unable to play this game. It's a shame, it looks fun.

There is nothing in my error/event logs to give a clue as to what's happening. My PC runs all sorts of stuff just fine, from Minecraft to Terraria(another XNA game) to Crysis and BFBC2.

That just happened to me. Sucks because I had a good game going.

I can't get beyond the first battle. The first hit is dished out and then the game just freezes. Ultimately crashing to desktop when using the menu.

Using mouse and keyboard myself.

I too am getting crashes to desktop.

At first I was getting them when trying to start the game, but this was fixed with that redist install.

This time, it's after trying to run my second created level. The first level went off without a hitch, but this second one crashes every time I try to run it. Very frustrating.

Edit: I haven't done extensive testing (the level editor isn't the most user friendly thing in the world), but based on my two successes in map making, versus my several failures, I think I know what is causing this crash:

If you attempt to place a camp at row 1, rather than lower on the map, it will crash to desktop.

Tried the game twice, both times it's crashed to desktop. Used 4-player maps, different ones each time. Both times it crashed just when it was about to give me control to let me excavate a tunnel. No user input whatsoever. No crash log.

I use Win7 64-bit, an ATI Radeon 5700 series graphics card, and keyboard and mouse.
