Exclamation Left 4 dead 2.exe has stopped working !! help

I just bought a new PC here is the specs

Video card : ATI radeon XFX 6950 2gb
process :AMD phenom 6X 1100 3.3 ghz
I used to have windows xp so I changed to WIndows 7 Hoem premium
4 GB memory ram
When i play left 4 dead 2 it say lef 4 dead 2e.xe has stopped working outaa nowhere,FPS are great but before i started the game a window poped up saying it couldnt recgonize me video card etc etc i just ignored it and started playing

and so far this didnt happened to any other games

..... that pop was probably something important. What does dxdiag see the card as? And what version catalyst are you running?

the dx diag sees the card as AMD RADEON 6900 SERIES
the catalyst version is 11.8

NEWSFLASH :: I JUSt GOt the BLUE SCREEN ON L4D2 heres the message the windows gave me when the computer restarted

That popup doesn't mean anything. It just says that Steam doesn't uniquely recognize the Graphics card. This Does NOT mean that the game won't run, JUST that steam doesn't UNIQUELY know what the card is.



To the OP:
In addition to the graphics drivers, make sure that ALL other drivers are also up to date. Especially the chipset drivers. Along with DirectX.

Get Bluescreenview to find out what caused the BSOD.

So I have two crashs recorded here they are the driver and the motives but i dont know what to do should I reinstall the drivers or what ?


090411-18907-01.dmp SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION---> causde by driver
ntoskrnl.exe

caused by address ---> ntoskrnl.exe+7cc40

From company microsoft corporation

the second one

090411-20732-01.dmp DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

caused by driver :atikmdag.sys

caused by address :atikmdag.sys+3ad52a

Now what should I do ?

Try installing older drivers for your Video Card.

Win 7

Win 7 x64
