I almost spit up my breakfast...

when I saw an "amazing deal" on a BF3 server preorder. Almost $2000USD for a year of 64 players. People actually pay that much for other people to play BF3 online? The kicker was, it was an extra $6 a month to 'debrand' the server.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad people do it, but I just don't get it. If I could run my own server and install the binaries like I used to with BF2, then I'd actually consider running one, instead of paying a ludicrous amount of cash for someone elses server, that I'm sure is slow due to having 10 running on the same box.
