Post Mortem Confusion (spoilers)

Okay, I am pretty far into the game where you are supposed to examine that special painting at the alambic bistro. I take the candle from the table to uncover the hidden picture in the painting but nothing happens. After reading a walkthrough it mentions Berenice making an imitation Baphomet head but I don't remember getting that dialogue. So there is something I missed, however I haven't the slightest idea what it could be. Any help?

I can't help but i'm experiencing the same problem. Despite going through the walkthrough with a fine tooth comb I can't find anything I've forgotten, and yet everytime the candle casts no light on the picture. The walkthrough said you have to exhaust all conversation with Bebe first, but that doesn't work either. I hope it isn't just an unfixable bug, because this would make 3 steam games for me that I've purchased and been unable to play.

Success! Through some persistent digging around I found that you must obtain the contents of the locked box in the Eatons apartment before Bebe's conversation line about the head of the baphomet appears. The locked box is found in the wardrobe of the Eatons apartment bedroom, and the key for the box is behind the lefthand corner of the poster found on the wall of the apartment lounge area. Also be advised sometimes the box isn't there and you have to have to leave and come back later to find it. No reason, you just do. I hope this ends the stress for anyone else beating their head against a wall over the candle puzzle like I have been
