About having lots of towns

I remember playing this game in the past but there were one thing I didn't like. Having ♥♥♥♥ ton of towns to manage, is there a way to disable making new towns because I remember having to make new ones and new ones and... you get the idea.

It's a great game, I like it a lot but all that town zerg slows it down so much. I rather have 1 "core-town" and some neutral towns that I can take over. But not making new towns.

EDIT: I found an option that said "Disable Outposts". Ahhh yeah, seems to work!
