The game tries to use a resolution that is not supported.
Try deleting Documents/Octane Games/WastelandAngel/settings.dat so that the settings revert to default ones. |

Downloaded the game, completed initial setup, on launching the game I get "Failed to initialize the engine", followed by a second runtime error "R6025 - pure virtual function call". The folder you mentioned only contains 1 file for me: update.bin

I'm also in the same situation as diode303 / mhodi with the demo installation immediately after download.

Hi
Well, I'm trying to play the demo, too, but it won't even show me an error message, when starting through steam. When I try to start the angel.exe in the directory "STEAM\steamapps\common\wasteland angel - demo\bin\x86\dx9", it shows the error 0xc000007b. I also tried compatibility mode set to windows xp sp3, run as administrator and let steam re-validate the game files, without success. The system is running on Windows 7 x64, 4gb of ram, Nvidia GTX285 with driver 275.33, SB Audigy 4 with latest drivers and two monitors. //edit Well, I just found a solution to my problem: I put a copy of a msvcr100.dll directly into the game-folder (...demo/bin/dx9) and now it starts. The file version is 10.00.30319.1 and it has to be the x86 version with around 750kbs. Last edited by DHAmoKK: 09-17-2011 at 04:37 PM. |

Still seems to try to start the game with an unsupported resolution.
Try starting the game with using command line parameter "-windowed". This will launch the game in windowed mode and it should run even if the resolution is wrong for your screen. |

The game does start for me in windowed. Unfortunately the window it starts is about on inch by half an inch and all I can see in it is pure black. |

Is that a HP Pavilion? I have one with exactly the same specs... Maybe it is a resolution issue?
