Unhappy DEVELOPERS PLEASE ADD MANUAL SAVE/LOAD

I hate checkpoint system! if you are making an old school shooter, make everything old school like a true fps PC game!!! Add manual save/load options, please...

But they said manual checkpoints ruin the challenge of a game. I tend to agree with them. I'm happy for their decision.

Well, as a reviewer who has now reached the final boss on Normal... providing my request gets done, I will also be happy. Can't say why, because it would be a spoiler, but... yeah...

If you really, really want quicksave and load, lucky88shp, you can bind quicksave to some key, quickload's already bound to F9, via the console, instructions are on another thread... one mo...

I think they should add manual save and load, and then let the players decide wheter they want to save every minute or take the challenge and play without saving.

Perhaps there should be an achievement like "beat the game without manually saving". That would be cool.

Why should the developers bend over backwards for people who need to be babied with quick saves/quick loads. This is a real shooter, man up, grow a pair. They made the right decision here because it adds to the challenge of the game, something a lot of shooters seem to lack nowadays because they are made for people like you who can't play a shooter without quicksaving every step.

I fail to see what's the relation between playing a game and be able to save the game whenever I want and "growing a pair of balls".
Perhaps playing a computer shooter is the closest you have been to feel like a man?

If I want manual saves it's not because I think it's too difficult but to be able to play as little as I want.

If I can only play for five minutes then I only have that much time.

The option should be there and it should be the players who decide whether to use it or not.

Quick-saving is cheating. That said, you can use the console to bind the save command to a key, thus making your own quick-save. Many others have mentioned this in many other posts.

The amount of complaining about this at least shows people like the game. When most gamers like something, they tend to complain about it a lot. I don't know why.

Any and all complaints of "no quick save" from now on must be met with a hybrid of this and "grow a pair".

Personaly I agree with this in principle. Choice of save options for others shouldn't spoil the game for those that like checkpoints, should it? If it does, why does it?

I have had such a discussion about choices previously and it seems there are those that believe gaming is all about 'having a pair' and also appear to be those that seem offended and get ridiculously defensive when their personal preference is challenged.

There's a pattern forming here and it seems, rather ironically, that how 'hardcore' you are or are not is based on either the size, the number and/or the hairiness of ones testicles. I also expect this demograph to believe that you are not a 'real' gamer if you play casually and therefore will consequently be the sad owner of a rather small middle wicket.

Don't worry about them Burro Loco, they may grow out of it

No, no, no, you don't quite seem to understand. This is a hardcore, classic FPS. Much of it is all about how hard it is, and all of this needless complaining over a feature that IS included just defeats the purpose of going on such an endeavor. It's like complaining that Mt. Everest is too big and cold, or that Dead or Alive Paradise has too many beautiful girls.

Difficulty complaints about a game that is supposed to be hard comes off as girly whining, end of story.

That's like saying the ability to turn on god mode should be included in the main menu for all games because it's about choice. Nevermind that it's cheating. No, it's about choice. Right. Choice.

I have an idea. Remove all difficulty levels but one, the hardest. And make it even harder and call it MEGADOOMINFERNOHARDCORE.
That would be so cool, wouldn't it?
I wouldn't be allow to buy it because I don't have so much hair on my chest.

There is no ambiguity about the word choice fellas.

One has it or one doesn't and Wolvenreign I understand fully what you are saying about the game and its position in the genre and the marketplace.

Simian, I just think you are over exagerrating and a little over zealous with your analogy mate.

I'm certainly not 'arguing' with any of you chaps as you have made your preferences quite clear. So did Burro Loco and some appear to want to see him neck-shot. What clinched it for me is that he has little time available and feels its a shame he should miss out on a superb looking shooter because of the limiting (to him) save options.

I'm not denying, opposing or defending or even personaly even care about the choice of quick save versus checkpoints but only through reading anothers preferences can I understand that the one chosen in-game may spoil it for some. That's all and that is what choices means.

All the best fellas - I respect your preferences.

I like how you cut off the part of my post that explained that quick save IS involved, and just included the part of the post that represented the reality of your lack of chesthair.

I was going after the dude who was defending your whining, btw. Read all of the post before replying.

By the by, I nominate your post for most pathetic reply ever. Gratz.
