Dead Island crashes ONLY while playing with certain people!

i've had a topic before about my Dead Island crashing, and gettin the message "Dead Island has stopped working"
i noticed this ONLY happens when i play with one of my mates.

when i play with my other friends it's all fine we can play for hours, but only with that guy, We all crash after a few minutes of playing. himself is fine tho, he verified the files, even reinstalled Dead Island, but nothing.

What we also noticed about him, is that he sometimes seems to disconnect while still in the game. his character appears to just stand at a certain spot not moving, but he says he's right next of us in his game.

anyone got this aswel with someone they want to coop with?
is there anything my friend can do about this?

any idea's maybe?

Does it matter which of you is the 'host'?

no it doesn't matter its a crash for us whoever is the host, if he's there its gonna crash in a few minutes.

and he will be all fine.. "huh whered you guys go?"

The exactly same thing happens to me. Almost everytime i play co-op my game crashes. Only happens on co-op. No matter who's hosting. I play with two other friends but it happens only to me.
And sometimes these weird things happen. Invisible zombies. The car gets partialy invisible save for dors and hood. I ask my mate where is he and he says "right next to you" but i can't see him. Once we (he being invisible) occupied the same sit in the car.

exactly, there must be a cause/solution for this, im completely out of ideas

Does your friend have any strange characters in their name?

Aside from that, there could be software that is running causing the conflict. Maybe a firewall or something else doing packet inspection.

Well i don't have any problems playing with anyone else, and my client is crashing not his, so that wouldn't make any sense.. he reinstalled, deleted his cache and everything, it seemed fine for the last 20 mins until another "Dead Island has stopped working" showed up for both me and my other friend. But Will was fine (The guy who crashes us when we coop with him)

I feel kinda sorry for him since he doesn't feel like playing the game at all because of this.

The only issues I have caused is modding files and testing them I discovered that certain mods if they don't match on everyones client ...everyone will crash ...no matter who the host is.

What crash is he having though?

The crash caused by mods I have tested is that your friends get booted to DI game menu.

Modding mods for weapons causes this...the others clients don't recognize someones Tesla Machete for example.

Once items are deleted connections are fine.

so the question is... is your friend not telling you he has mods in his mydocuments/deadisland/out/data file.

It's us crashing not him, and no noone modded their game or anything we just want to have a nice experience from the Original Dead Island, not some silly mods, still crashing tho, he formatted everything, so we are gonna give this another shot soon, i'll tell the results if it will crash or not.

This issue really needs some attention since i see we are not the only ones.

I'm posting here because me and my friends have the exact same problema. In Our case, I'm the one who makes them crash.
I'm thinking about trying to discorver anything we have in commom to discover why we make others crash.
My version is official, Steam's.
I was thinking about some sort of conection problem, so I'll focus on that:
I use a routed internet, that only me, my mother and my sister uses. Mine is wireless, via USB.
So, what you guys think?
