NFS Hot Pursuit Patches

I discovered the patch to fix my issue, but for some reason the patch does not detect the NFS HP install on steam.

So... how would I go about installing the patch? @_@

Shouldn't the game on Steam already be fully updated?

...It should. If it is, then the patches that are supposed to fix my issue, don't fix my issue. @_@

Which makes me even more confused. I wonder why I still get the black screen with the 'the exe shut down for some mysterious reason, send error report?'

Have you tried verifying your cache? I've tried that but it did not work for me. Maybe it will work for you.

My game crashes to desktop after the title screen (which it didn't used to so maybe a video driver or other patch bonked it). But, I don't think Steam has the latest patches and the EA one won't find the steam version. Can anyone else confirm if Steam is on latest patch?

Hi guys, first post here....

I got the same problem.
I just bought NFS Hot Pursuit through steam.
When i start the game i get "NFS11.exe has encounterd an error and needs to close,....".
After some digging on the net it seems a lot of people have issues with starting this game. Thats why all those patches are released.
But same here. The patch won't find the NFS installation within steam.
Any help is appreciated.

also having a smililar problem, i get to the title screen, then "connecting to autolog servers" followed by the crash to desktop

I've found posts on the NFS forums but as usual there's no response from EA

I followed the steam support guide on game crashes.
(Steam/support/Games/Errors and Crashes/Trouble shooting game crashes)

So i spent 1 1/2 houre on updating my windows.
30 minutes on updating latest Video and Sound driver
30 min on re-adjusting my sound for FPS games !!!
Spent 45 min on finding an more update DirectX 9.0C ??

Same problem !!!!

PC specs are:
Windows XP SP3 2 GB RAM
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33 Ghz
Radeon X1950 Pro 512 MB (AGP) DirectX 9.0C supported
Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS DirectX 9.0C supported

If nothing can be done i want my money back to spend it on another game...

ok people, another update...

So what did I do.. I downloaded NFS Hot Pursuit from a newsserver. Installed it.. used the key i got from steam..
Key was accepted, and activated. Patch ran without any problems.
Patch nr 4, wich then auto updates to nr 5.

I was thrilled, untill i tried to run the game. Same error
Pfff..
So in my opinion, nothing to do with patch or no patch within steam.
EA needs to solve this. And looking on their fora.. We are not alone...

Thanks for that Vodzo, but don't hold your breath from EA.

The game is a year old and there are still many posts with users complaining. Ive had issues with EA before regarding mass effect 2, and took them weeks to reply to my e-mail with a cookie cut response.

Update:

I spend last night a whole evening on installing Win7 next to my XP (lol at pc crash while repartioning my HD !!! lucky I work as an IT engineer for more then 15 years, so i resolved tghe problem without any data loss)

Last status was that everything was updated, all drivers installed, steam installation OK, NFS HP installation OK.
The clock said 01.45 am so I decided to go to sleep before work

Tonight i'll test if nfs will start in win7 and let you guys know.

Win 7 installation didnt help me.. same problem.
nfs11.exe error at startup.
I've read on the EA forums that someone managed to solve his problem with installing a NO cd/dvd Patch/crack.
I can't find it so i can't test it..
F*** waste of my money !!
