If i uninstall and reinstall will my save game still be there

Hey all, I recently made some edits that other forums have touched on (just the fov edit and mouse sensitivity). I read that there is a config file that allows you to do the same things, but is more VAC friendly, and wanted to try it out. I would just rather get my game back to normal first. I tried verifying game integrity or w/e, the changes are still present. If i uninstall and reinstall, will i lose my progress that i have been working on with friends in co op? Or is there an easier way to get the files back to default. Thanks!

It should. Nonetheless there is no harm backing up your save even if you aren't reinstalling.

Go to "/Steam/userdata/[bunch of numbers]/91310/remote/out/save/" and copy the savegame. If it shows up as corrupted in Play, just delete ClientRegistry.blob and restart Steam.

Personally i'm not touching window 8 until we know how it holds up a few months from now. Stick with what you have, unless you have Vista >

If you right-click on the game, select Properties, go to the Local Files tab, and choose Verify Integrity of Game Cache. That should put all of the files back to match everything on Steam (unless you've put custom stuff in your My Documents\DeadIsland directory - I don't think it touches those).

Well, I assume you modded one of the Data packs and probably a dll?

If checking integrity doesn't work, you can try deleting the modified pack and the dll instead of reinstalling the entire game.
