Can not download steam!

Hello,

I try to download steam on my mom's laptop, but it's always freezes at 77 %. When i cancel download and try to download again, then can not even download... Never experienced this issue until now. Is steam broken?

The Steam updater doesn't seem to be working on new installs. There was an update to steam a few days ago that seems to be causing the problems. Fill out a error report at https://support.steampowered.com/ and maybe we can get valve's attention.

You can't open the actual download page? It's just a direct link to the installer.

Nope, can't, it keeps loading forever and nothing happens.

Again, I don't recommend downloading any executable off any un-trustworthy place, but if you want.. it's there.

Sounds like a browser issue.

Hello you could try using a USB device to download Steam to then try downloading Steam to your computer from the USB.

You could try to shutting down your antivirus software if you have it running.
