Crossfire support?

When I first ran this game, I was surprised to find that it ran like total crap. Finally today during a multiplayer session it totally crapped out at 5fps, and then just died. Turned off Crossfire and now it never drops below the 60fps vsync limit. Did they even test this game on crossfire? I've had issues with DiRT3 in crossfire too, but none that were totally game breaking.

I'd suggest waiting for an AMD driver update before pointing fingers. Chances are the drivers don't have a profile for F1 2011 yet.

You can set the control centre to auto-disable crossfire when you run F1 2011, bit of a kick in the teeth but it will only be for a bit.

edit: have a look here http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=2131828

I figured as much was true, just curious if anyone else was experiencing something similar. I had actually already downloaded that CAP, but didn't seem to do much. Thanks for the prompt reply and info though!

Here's the problem- any Crossfire support has been targeted to DX11, since even old AMD cards are DX11 capable. However, there is currently a bug in F1 2011 where DX11 doesn't work. Yes, in the options it says that you're running DX11, but use any 3rd party overlay utility (Afterburner, etc.) that tells you what DX version you're running- and it'll say DX9.

Codemasters needs to fix the game before we're going to see this engine run (and look) correctly. This problem exists on single-GPU as well (just tested).

CORRECTION: the Codemasters bug only has to do with Multi-GPU. If you disable Crossfire, you'll run at DX11. Crossfire on, and it reverts to DX9. The CFX profiles apply to DX11 only, AFAIK- so any profiles written by AMD/ATI are not being loaded.
