Honestly, I don't know much about TVs, but from what I have heard, Samsung and Sony are some the best. I have had some good products from Samsung and Sony myself, but my old LG TV broke some years back.
Anyway, take my opinion whith whatever small item of your choosing. |

3D TV's are awful and an absolute waste of money.
That said, if you're really strung out on getting some frilly silly 3D TV, i would suggest one of the Panasonic ST/GT30A series TV's. Failing that, Samsung would be the second choice from me. |

Ramzy's correct. There's only a few movies taking advantage of the medium and the main one, being AVATAR has Cameron adjusting colour profiles on high model Panasonic plasma sets.

I literally just got a 3DTV yesterday.
I went shopping with my dad a few different times and from what I gathered from the best buy employees, Samsung is currently on top, not Samsung. We were told that Samsung is the best for high end where as LG is a good one if you need to save a few bucks. They said Sony isn't doing very well right now and even though the TV's are still decent, they're still too expensive. Samsung is better for a cheaper price. So I hope that answers your question. Samsung if you have some extra dough, LG if you really need to save some dollars, and don't bother with Sony. I don't know my TV's exact model but I do know it's 55" 7000 series. Edit: It's LED and I think i's 240Hz. |

LG is pretty good, I would go for passive 3d though so you don't have to pay for glasses and don't need to recharge them. I get alot of mine from 3d movies I see at theaters and notice no difference. And people are wrong to dismiss 3D as a fad it is here to stay and is growing rapidly considering the bad economy it entered into. Also go for something over 120 hz cause that is the minimum and I read you can notice flickering even at 120.

3D isn't worth the money but that's just my two cents.
I'd just get an LED tv at 1080p that's around 46-55" or whatever size you have available. |

If you are planning to use it for gaming...like a la PS3 or something I would personally recommend Sony Bravia, but as people said and from what my understanding is Samsung offers a lot of equivalent products, may be rumor but from what I've heard its a lot of the same components (same manufacturers) for them...someone correct me if I'm wrong on that, just what I heard.
