Can you tell me what fixed it? Was it verifying the game cache or renaming the exe file?
Veryifing the game cache... though I had done that before, though not after updating the latest 11.11c drivers...

Hi there, I'm still having this issue.

I'm using a ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO and only updated to the newest drivers for it yesterday. Now attempting to run AZS it goes to a blue screen of death before crashing the computer:

I've read the thread and have attempted the following:

1. Verify the game cache.
(right-click AZS > Properties > Local Files > Verity Integrity of Game Cache)
2. Go to the folder that AZS is installed in.
(default: C:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\atomzombiesmasher\dat a)
3. Delete atomzombiesmasher.exe
4. Rename atom_net.exe to atomzombiesmasher.exe
5. Run the game from Steam.
This resulted in steam telling me that the game was no longer available, and I have also attempted to verify the game cache to to avail.

Has a solution to this problem been found that I've missed in the thread?

I'm having a crash related issue with Ati driver apparently causing it. Atleast BSOD points to ati file. What I've done is played the christmas kringlejammer to wave 8 and beyond. And tried to start new campaign afterward but it crashes there pretty soon.

Changing the atom_net.exe to atomzombiesmasher.exe complains about duplicate user and wants me to use another one?

Using ATI drivers 12.1 but getting a BSOD at launch, didn't get a BSOD when I last played during the summer, probably with the 11.6's.

But...

1. Verify the game cache.
(right-click AZS > Properties > Local Files > Verity Integrity of Game Cache)
2. Go to the folder that AZS is installed in.

4. Rename atom_net.exe to atomzombiesmasher.exe
5. Run the game from Steam.
Renaming worked, verify did nothing.

Already did what funkydude quoted?

The Kringle mode worked fine for me but I got a BSOD when starting a campaign. The trick with renaming the atom_net.exe did it for me so it would atleast register the achievement properly.

This did work for me, however I was unable to load my original profile and had to make a new one.

For what it's worth since the latest update, the game seems more stable for me, but I still ran into the error after about 30 minutes of game play.

this turns my fullversion into the demo version.

to delete the atigktxx.dll results in the game not launching at all, the atomzombiesmasher.exe can be found in the task manager though.

everything else results in bluescreens.

a real fix would be appreciated... before the xmas event is over!

Having the same problem. Game made me BSoD twice now when pressing an Update Now button. ATI 6950, 955BE CPU, latest drivers. I'll try verifying the gamecache.

Brendon, if you're still around, I managed to get the game and some others I couldn't get working by updating my AMD drivers, however now my screen resolution is borked and won't allow me to extend my display to my CRT monitor. It also says my video card can't verify the signature for the new drivers. Any idea what's going on?

Same here

Having the same BSOD issue. I tried the renaming and it still got a BSOD. Before the renaming, it would BSOD instantly when trying to launch, after renaming it, it would at least have the loading bar and splash screen before giving me a BSOD.

Win7 x64
Radeon HD 5870
Catalyst 11.12
