Low Res vs. High Res Comparrison

I was getting not many low res texture problems until I came upon the Dead City. I thought to myself, "There is no way this could look this bad." So I went online trying to find an image to compare how it is supposed to look with how it really looks. Here are the results.

How it REALLY looks - http://i.imgur.com/qeKGE.jpg

mine didn't even look that bad not it was still nowhere near what it's supposed to be.

Actually this could just be concept art.

Probably rendered in a 3D modeling program, they used Modo heavily in production of the game.

No, those are the textures they promised. Something is bugging their stupid auto-detection engine and it's defaulting to the lowest resolution textures on PC.

I want to see a picture of that scene on a ps3 or 360 just to see if it's as terrible as the PC one.

This here is what we call a prime example of the term "Bullshot".

It's a screenshot probably from the developer IDE, running on the best quality assets.

When it comes time to create the assets for the target systems (in this case, obviously consoles), the assets are lowered in quality and/or compressed for best performance.

What we have here is a set of textures that are meant for 256 MB consoles, instead of 1 Gig PC's.

The real funny thing about Bullshots, is that if you show one to a average joe console gamer they'll swear their sub-HD, low rez textures, low settings console games look EXACTLY like the bull shot running on the PC in a dev kit, with assets that won't actually make it into the game at 1080p full AA and AF. They will SWEAR to it. It's a hoot.

Agreed. I'm not getting anywhere NEAR 60fps, my guess is that is causing the game to try and lower texture resolution to pick up the frame rate. If whatever is causing my frame rate to drop were fixed I bet the texture problem would clear up like magic right along with it.

There's a gameplay video showing the exact same area with high resolution textures not present in the release version.

I tried playing through the low res textures and started noticing the stitching ALL OVER the place. Little black lines over everything. Yelled at my screen but decided to push on got on the atv and the sound, sounds like ps one sounds, YELLED again and keep going. Got to the first bandit cave and EVERYTHING has a green tint that blur the textures to the point where it's hard to see. Said F*UCK IT and quit the application. I'm at getting pis*ed just thinking about how I paid 60 for this.
