Supreme Commander 3 Announced!!!

Read here http://www.gamingdaily.co.uk/2011/da...e-commander-3/

it says
Quote:
Fans of Chris Taylor’s strategy opus received a surprise today when the studio head announced that he was handing off control of the franchise to Farenheit/Heavy Rain creator David Cage. “David and I have wanted to work together for a long time” Taylor said, “and with my attention focused on Age of Empires, this seemed like the perfect time to bring him on board.”

Cage himself took to the floor to announce Supreme Commander 3, showing the press a brief teaser trailer in which a boy in fifties-style clothing attempted, fruitlessly, to goad a 200-foot tall mobile command unit into playing baseball with him. “This is a game of many things” he explained. “Yes, it is about 200-foot tall mobile command units and the lonely men who pilot them; it is also about hope, windmills and the invention of the printing press.”

“Supreme Commander is a wonderful series. A wonderful series. But I wonder – when a man lays out his energy generators, can that be art? When a man makes a little tank, a little gunship, is that love? I believe that a King Kryptor’s greatest power is his ability to make you cry. I believe that if you zoom out far enough, you will see the human heart.”

Supreme Commander 3 is scheduled for release in the summer of 2012.

"Our 100% factual reporting."
methinks they be 'masters' of satire.

or not.

It's a bit late to post it on here now If it were real, we would have heard about it by now.
Anyway, empires and then maybe K&C will be taking up their time first.

If it were real, I hope GPG dumps Square Enix and focuses on a PC only version. SupCom 2 was a soggy piece of crap.

Sorry, that's not possible. Square Enix owns the intellectual property of Supreme Commmander.

Yeah, shame that K&C had to be put on hold so that Chris Taylor could go work on Age of Empires Online. Hopefully his team will get back on the tracks with K&C before to long.

AoE:O was executed very poorly.

Rushed to finish and launched prematurely with many things still missing and needing fixed.

The evergreen model will not work.

Wait, this sounds a lot like SupCom2...

That's probably why Microsoft went begging to Chris Taylor to help them out. They probably had a pile of crap to begin with and knew they needed big help. They also probably offered him and his team a hunk of cash to drop the K&C project on a dime like they did. I don't think I have seen Chris Taylor more eccentrically excited about a project like he was during the first year of development in K&C with those video blogs. That last "intermission" video left the whole project on a cliff. Not even a cliff hanger, just a cliff.
