Game won't start - Demo worked though
Simply put I downloaded the game and when I try to start it the little steam launcher pops up "Preparing to launch - Orcs Must Die!" and it vanishes in a split second and nothing.
Nothing happens. However the demo worked and it was actually what got me wanting this game. I liked the gameplay a lot and now since it came out and I got it I can't play. I wanted to stream this game too, bring it some attention and maybe bring these indie guys some deserved sales. I hope this problem goes away soon. ![]() Things I've tried that didn't work:- Rebooted Steam - Rebooted PC Here's my PC specs:CPU: i7 2600k GPU: GTX 570 RAM: 8 gigs OS: Windows 7 |

That's strange, since the demo and the full game are one and the same. The full version is just unlocked.

Awesome, same problem here.
Played the demo, purchased the game - wont start. Same as TE. Verify, restart - nothing helps. |

Verify 2 or 3 times. Restart Steam.
First verify didnt help for me as well. At the second i got the msg that 7 files are missing (2.9 MB). Now its working. Thats maybe a problem, because of our demo we played before. |

I wanted to edit my post but I don't know how really, new to this forum. Anyways wanted to say that YES validating the files did the trick. I don't know why it didn't occur to me first. It's so obvious!
Thank you all for the helpful replies. If someone can help me out on how to edit the post I will, also the title so it might help out people who have this problem in the future.

Same issue. Deleted local content and redownloaded, then it worked.

A couple of other things seem to have changed between the demo and full game that I don't like. I'm pretty sure for one thing that the demo responded to changes to Windows volume setting so I could adjust it with the wheel on my logitech keyboard. I just started OMD for the first time with my Windows volume turned down and had a HUGE blare nearly burst my speakers when it came on.
If it isn't broke, don't 'fix' it. |

Hey i'm having the same problem, but i'm not very familiar with Steam...
What do you mean with "validating" ? And what do you mean with "deleting local content"? I also had the demo installed if that matters in any way.. Would be great if someone can help me out cheerz
