Ammo in Big MT

Is anyone else having serious issues finding/buying enough ammo? Yeah, I can just add some through the console, but I hate doing that and it seems unnatural would force you into melee... especially considering cool guns and lack of heavy armor in the zone.

Also for whatever reason I have real hard time sneaking. Even with the stealth suit I found there it seems like there is always someone looking for me from mile away, and I can't even see them with 9 perception.

you can buy big ammounts of ammo from Bardon who is located at Hoover Dam he sells 500-7000 bullets sometimes. The only bad thing is you have to be friendly with NCR

Buy powder and primer packs from the sink and make your own ammo, scrap metal is easy to come by and turn into lead. Also bear in mind that the restock formula for the sink merchant is four days completely outside of the sink. So spend some time waiting and sleeping in Higgs Village for four in-game days and come back, you'll have a chance to buy few more bullets. Footlockers seem to have decent amounts of .357 and .44 rounds in them I've found, so if all else fails you can go back to the K9000.

For the ammo, you could try wetlampshade's "More Ammo From Enemies:"

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloa...e.php?id=35264

"This is a simple mod that makes enemies drop about 5x more ammo than they already do. If this is too much, I will be uploading other files that make them drop 2x, 3x, or 4x."

Remember at the start of the game where you carried around five different guns, not for the variety of tactical situations you might encounter, but because you didn't have enough of one set of bullets to shoot everything?

It's like that again. Get to hauling.

Also, the Proton Axe and it's semi-unique variant are pretty sweet. Chop chop!

I came down with loads of 12ga and 50MG ammo. Both are non-existent in the zone. The only kinds you can find are .357 .44 and energy ammo.
Wasted that and switched down to .357 and wasted all that as well. The amounts you can find are laughable. 5-10 bullets is nothing for the speed K9000 eats ammo, and anything less is just not powerful enough to deal with the enemies.

The Sink vendor sells crafting boxes with 25 powder/hull of each type, but there is only one per reset. Thats is 50 bullets if I bring 2 different caliber guns. Not enough to clear one building.

Fine... wasted all new levels on training energy weapons. Ran out of MF cells doing X-8.

Fine... trained up melee weapons. With no heavy armor, and otherwise sneak/guns built characters I just don't last in melee. Robots are piece of cake, but nightstalkers eat me up before I can even kill one.

Really I think the issue is game doesn't quiet scale ammo loot properly according to my/NCPs level in the zone. At level 40 it takes more ammo to kill one NPC than you can recover from entire group. I appreciate the difficulty of the fights, but not the total ammo starvation. Ammo gains from both looting, crafting and buying are totally inadequate and I am currently using 4 different ammo types.

Sorry but I was never like that. Yes ammo was scarce, but enough to kill things. I ended up saying itall and adding myself some ammo via console.

Ammo wasn't really a problem for me, I mainly used Elijas' LAER. Finding microfusion cells wasn't really a problem, though it's possible I might have brought a considerable amount of them with me from the Mojave..

Considered sniping kills? It's a great saving on ammo. And there's plenty of hunting revolvers being carried by lobotomites.

Yeah, SaphireBullets has the right idea. Once I scrounged a hunting revolver from a lobotomite droog I use that weapon 90% of the time...

Have you tried taking the Scrounger perk? It doesn't do as much as it did in FO3 but it helps a little.

Normally Animal Friend is kind of a sucky perk but dang if it wouldn't have made OWB a lot easier.

Curse you Doctor Boros!

I'll back this up, sort of. It doesn't quite have the range of most scoped weapons, but a fully upgraded Holorifle makes a good mid-range sniping energy weapon, and packs a lot of punch per MFC.
