Since the last couple of updates this week, I've noticed CS:S sometimes locks up when trying to load the MoTD. Sometimes this causes the whole system to lock-up requiring a restart (frustrating). It wasn't doing this last week.
I'm running a fairly vanilla configuration for the game (so no skins, weird configs, etc.). System Specs: OS: WinXP Home (32-bit) CPU: Intel Core2Duo @ 3Ghz RAM: 3GB DDR2 GPU: nVidia 9800 GT I've made sure the drivers for my GPU are up to date and such business. Anyone have any ideas? |

Validated game files and defraged the 1% fragmentation. Doesn't seem to be having the problems anymore. Will post back if I encounter the issue again.

Had another system lock-up. Was similar to the other times. Game just freezes. Typically this is when MotD pops up, but I also get the same thing about 30 seconds into the map on an occasion. Gonna turn off multicore rendering and see how that handles.

Haven't had recurring issues with this since disabling the multicore rendering.
